As we ring in 2006, the William Penn Society will be under new leadership. Tom Hirth was recently appointed Interim President for the January Term. Former President Alex Christenson, whose fall term began in September of 2005, stepped down from his Presidential duties at the end of the Fall Semester. Christenson will be leaving for South America, namely Chile and Argentina, for the January class "Politics and Diversity in Latin America" with Professor Norden. "I feel that it is in the best interests of the society to elect a new President in my absence to fulfill the remaining duties for Jan Term." said Christenson. He wishes the society and prospectives the best of luck during New Member Education. |

Congrats to those prospective Penns that recieved bids this year to pledge the William Penn Society in January of 2006. Recieving a bid from the WPS is an honor that is bestowed upon very few Whittier College men, those of you that recieved bids this year should be proud. Bids were dispersed on December 3rd and New Member Education will start on January 10th, 2006. Prospective members who recieved bids will need to accept their bid through the Dean of Students Office as soon as possible when Jan Term starts in order to participate. The deadline is usually January 10 at noon, but accepting bids on Monday, January 9 (first day of classes) is a good idea to make sure this process is completed by the deadline. |
